2. One thing I want to learn more about is Communist government.

Holocaust

After learning about the Holocaust, do you agree with the actions of Hitler towards the Jewish people? How did it make you feel learning about the Holcaust?

I strongly disagree with Hitler's actions. He has no right to kill anybody espceially one race just because he thinks he is better than everybody else. The people that he killed were innocent, they did not do anything to him.

Great Depression

1. One thing that I thought was intersting was that everything crashed at the same time and that it took them so long to solve the problem. I think its really sad. People had to go through so much during it.

2. Does the Great depression lesson remind you of what is going on today?

Immigration: Similarities and Differences

Similarities to 1800s Immigrants:

When we just immigrated we lived with other big families together.

We had to do medical examinations too, before we could enter the United States.

Differences to 1800s Immigrants:

We flew on the plane, instead of coming on the boats.

We didn't have to wait for weeks before we could start living in US.

The first working airplane was invented, designed, made, and flown by the Wright brothers, Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright. Their "_______________________" was a fabric-covered biplane with a _________________________ frame.

On December 17, 1903, their plane flew for 12 seconds and for a distance of 120 feet (37 m). The flight took place at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, USA.

Orville and Wilbur Wright were raised in Dayton, Ohio. Before building their airplane, they operated a _________________________ repair and sales shop. They made their own bicycles.

The brothers chose Kitty Hawk to fly their planes because it was an isolated town on North Carolina's Outer Banks that had steady _________________________ and sand dunes on which they could glide and land gently. The brothers' first two gliders failed. Later that year, the brothers built a _________________________ in which they tested over 200 wing and airframe designs.

Returning to Kitty Hawk, they began test flights in 1903. The planes accelerated on a monorail _____________________ and flew into the air.

During the next few years, the brothers developed more sophisticated planes. They later formed the _________________________, which built and sold their airplanes.

The Wright brothers' famous airplane is on permanent _________________________ at the National Air and Space _________________________ in Washington, D.C., USA.

“The Nation Grows and Divides” Unit Project

Using Flowgram find a picture that shows each chapter we studied:

For each picture, please write in your own words one piece of information you learned about that chapter that you think is interesting or important, and why you think it is interesting or important.

The United States Grows Larger

I learned about the Manifest Destiny and Mexican-American War. I think it's important because people were killing each

other just because they wanted more land, and I  think that's not right.
